In 1987, Sun Microstamping Technologies (SUN) was founded in Clearwater Florida, by Phil Ross the current VP of Sales and Engineering, with the principle of contributing to the success of our customers. Sun Microstamping Technologies has shaped a reputation for excellence in precision Metal Stamping, custom plastic Injection Molding and custom Insert Molding for products featuring a high degree of difficulty.

Sun Microstamping Technologies has two manufacturing facilities with a combined 170,000 sq ft, located in Clearwater, Florida and Matamoras, Mexico. SUN’s manufacturing plant in Mexico has a decade of experience and has established reputation for producing quality products on time. All divisions of Sun Microstamping continue to grow and improve technologies and quality to meet the latest customer challenges.

USA DIVISION

Sun Microstamping Technologies USA Division is the heart of the Organization; The main manufacturing plant and sales office are housed in the Clearwater, Florida Facility. This Division features a totally integrated Design, Engineering and Manufacturing facility. Precision Metal Stamping dies are designed and tested by SUN’s staff of engineers and toolmakers. With over fifty stamping presses, SUN produces almost a billion components per year, half of which go to SUN’s In-house Molding Facilities. In Clearwater, SUN has over thirty-five mold presses that are supported by mold tool designers and toolmakers. Sun Microstamping Technologies’ vertical integration provides our customers with a “one stop shop” for all their Metal Stamping, Injection Molding and Insert Molding needs.

Sun Microstamping Technologies USA Division also houses a highly motivated in-house Marketing and Sales team. They strive to bring in new accounts as well as meeting their most important goal of customer satisfaction in both their existing customer accounts and new accounts. SUN’s field sales force is comprised of an ever-expanding team of independent Sales Representatives that specialize in manufacturing sales. This ensures SUN has a highly motivated sales team that covers domestic and international markets.

MEXICO DIVISION

Sun Microstamping Technologies manufacturing facility in Mexico offers a wide variety of plastic Insert and Injection molding services including continuous strip Injection Molding and Assembly operations. This Division of SUN has a decade of experience and an established reputation for producing quality products on-time. This facility operates with the same quality standards as our USA Division and continually strives for improvement of process and product to exceed customer’s expectations.

This facility is located in Matamoros Mexico conveniently near the USA/Mexico border and allows us to offer our customers the major benefit of localization in Mexico which directly lowers our customer’s costs. Our Mexican Manufacturing Facility currently ships to several locations in Mexico, such as Reynosa, Mexico City, and Juarez to list a few. SUN Mexico also ships directly from Matamoros to the United States, South America and Europe.

Joint Venture

Shanghai, China

In the early 2000’s, Sun Microstamping formed a Joint Venture with a tool and die manufacturer that also does low volume metal stamping based near Shanghai, China. This Joint Venture produces some metal stampings for direct delivery in China and offers our customers another option with localized stamping in China.

ENVIROMENTAL POLICY DOCUMENT


As a responsible corporate citizen, Sun Microstamping Technologies, a manufacturer of Automotive, Electromechanical, and Medical Stamping and Molding products is committed to practicing sustainable operations, balancing the pursuit of economic growth with the protection of the environment. This fundamental activity will help to strengthen and to sensitize our total organization and foster continued responsible growth.

To this end SUN will:

  1. Meet or exceed all applicable legislation and regulations, customer and other requirements to which it subscribes.
  2. Identify its significant and/or other environmental aspects and commit to reducing their environmental impact where technically and financially feasible through an Environmental Management System.
  3. Ensure the Environmental Management System contains a commitment to continual improvement based on current ecological thinking and technological options within its financial feasibility.
  4. Commit itself where possible to the reduction of pollution from emissions to air, discharges to water, noise levels, and contamination of land and depletion of natural resources.
  5. Provide a framework for the setting and reviewing of its environmental objectives and targets through regular meetings of its working group, internal audits and management reviews.
  6. Ensure the environmental policy is contained within the environmental manual and implemented as the core of the environmental system that is communicated to all members. This policy is also made available to the public.
  7. This policy is a key component to the monitoring, review and potential improvement of SUN’s environmental performance.
  8. Work in partnership with customers and suppliers to reduce negative environmental impacts and promote positive environmental principles.
  9. Be committed towards the conservation of natural resources via the minimum consumption of energy, minimization of waste and encouraging the use of renewable resources.

The Environmental Policy is reviewed and discussed at the general orientation training given to all members and the policy is posted throughout the facility.
